Ask! And Don’t Stop There

Before you conclude, before you even think about walking away or convincing yourself of your assumptions – ASK!

How can you know, when you never asked?  How can you be certain, when you never inquired?  How can you conclude with only assumptions?  Maybe it’s time to stop being ASSuming and ASK! 😛

Okay, this post was really intended to  just be my thoughts about the many misunderstandings that we encounter.  However,

this verse from Matthew came into mind after I placed the exclamation mark at the end of the statement above.

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
Matthes 7:7-8

It’s easy to conclude about this verse.  And I’ve often heard people say out of frustration, ‘I’ve been asking… but it’s not being answered/given!”  I was one of them.  I used to think that it’s that simple, you ask and it will be given.  Don’t we all wish it’s that simple? But it’s not simple, IT’S WONDERFUL!  Read the verse again and reflect on it word per word.

It’s a package deal!  It’s not a multiple choice or options for your to pick just one or two.  When you ask, it will be given, it’s given!  You have to seek to find it, and you have to knock and knock so it will be revealed to you.  Don’t stop with asking.  Asking concerns only you… every time we ask, we always have only our interest in mind.  Let us seek, seeking concerns God, finding Him and His will.  And let us knock, knocking is when God and us meet, when He opens the door to show us who He is and what He has for us.

Let us ask God to grant us the heart that will keep on seeking and knocking (praying) so whatever it is that we’ve asked, we will be able to see it revealed to us by Him.  And what wonderful revelations they always are. 😉
